Portrait of Thibault Cernaix

About

The work of THIB emerges from the meeting point between aviation and contemporary illustration. A former aeronautical technician within the French Air Force, Air France and Air Inter, and now an A320 captain after flying the ATR72 and A330, he shapes a universe where the precision of flight meets the sensitivity of the line.

His artistic approach explores lines, curves and volumes — those of aircraft, human silhouettes, and all shapes that suggest motion. Indian ink plays a central role in his practice: a demanding medium with no room for error, requiring mastery and full presence.

Alongside drawing, Thibault develops a body of work around 3D modeling, photorealistic rendering and sculpted caricatures in polymer clay. These techniques enrich his exploration of material, light and presence.

WINGS&CURVES brings these influences together: compositions where the aerial meets the human form, where mechanics become elegance, where femininity dialogues with industrial lines.

Collectors’ reviews

“What a stroke of genius! Your drawings show talent in terms of originality, technical skill and humour! Well done and thank you!”

Edwin Loftus

“Cernaix's work really impresses me. In America this is called, "Good Girl Art" and top examples of it are extremely collectible. Cernaix is as good as any of these best international illustrators. My only complaint is that they're seriously underpriced. But that will end soon after collectors realize how potentially valuable his work will be.”
